Hello everyone, and welcome back to Gluten Free Hannah.
This is my first Christmas since becoming gluten free, and whilst the actual Christmas dinner doesn’t seem to be that much of a problem, other meals that involve cooking for large groups can be trickier, especially light nibbles and snacks. Therefore, I have been shopping and found some gluten free bites and sweet treats.
First off, M&S had a lot of gluten free sweets and chocolate snacks, and I mean A LOT. Here are a few things I picked up from the gluten free section:
- Brownie bites
- Chocolate chip cookies – milk chocolate and triple chocolate
- Honeycomb bites (I can’t wait to try these!!)
- Blueberry muffins
Tesco had a good range of savoury gluten free snacks. I found most of these with the party food section, but not everything in this section was gluten free, so do check.
- Mozzarella sticks
- Cheesy and garlic stars
- Pork cocktail sausages
- Onion bhajis (not very Christmassy, but seeing as I am having a curry on Christmas Eve, I was delighted to find some bhajis that I could have)
More and more supermarkets are making things gluten free, and not everything is labelled clearly, so don’t just assume something contains gluten as you might be surprised to see that it is gluten free.
Let me know what things you have found in supermarkets recently. Although it can be a bit hit and miss which supermarkets stock things, it’s definitely good to be on the lookout for new products.
Don’t forget you can subscribe at the bottom of this page so that you receive an email every time I upload a new blog post, and you can follow me on Twitter @glutenfree_han.
Until next time,
