Gluten Free Food Reviews

Rothley Fisheries

Hello everyone, and welcome back to Gluten Free Hannah!

You can’t beat a good fish and chips, and so a few weeks ago I went with my grandparents and my cousins to their local fish and chip shop, Rothley Fisheries.

I have been to Rothley Fisheries prior to being gluten free and being both a restaurant and take away, there are regularly queues outside the door for their fish and chips!

As it was my first time going and requiring a gluten free meal, I was reassured that all of the battered options were in fact gluten free. It is always a nice feeling to be told that you can choose almost anything from the menu! It also means that they offer gluten free options every day that they open!

Obviously, I ordered fish, chips and mushy peas and wasn’t disappointed in the slightest. A lovely piece of lightly battered fish and fluffy chips arrived, and I can assure you it didn’t stay on my plate for long!

With all of the battered options being cooked in a gluten free batter anyway, we all ended up with gluten free meals, and my Nana said that she thinks she prefers it gluten free as it is lighter than the normal batter! If that doesn’t reflect how good it was, then I’m not sure what will!

So if you find yourself in Leicestershire, and you are looking for a fish and chip restaurant or take away, then be sure to check out Rothley Fisheries!

Thank you so much for reading, don’t forget to follow me on twitter to keep up with what I’m doing, @glutenfree_han, and you can also subscribe at the bottom of this page to receive an email every time I post, so you can be sure not to miss anything!

Until next time,

Hannah x
