Hello everyone, and welcome back to Gluten Free Hannah!
As I’m sure you know, there are a few brands that are smashing their gluten free ranges at the moment, and Genius is definitely one of them. They are well stocked in most supermarkets and have such a wide range of products. Pies, pastry, bagels, pitta breads, cupcakes, crumpets…. They have it all!
Here are 5 products from Genius that I have been loving recently…
- SOFT WHITE ROLLS
These were a revolutionary find for me, because up until I discovered them, I hadn’t found a bread that I liked and worked well for sandwiches. Until I found these rolls. They are extremely soft and fluffy, and there are very rarely any holes inside them, which is a miracle for gluten free bread! More often than not I have one of these rolls in my lunch box, and I’m a very happy girl! The only slight downside is that they seem to be quite tricky to get hold of. I manage to get mine in my local Sainsbury’s.
- BREAKFAST BAKES
Genius’ Breakfast Bakes are a fairly new discovery for me, however they are delicious. They come in a few different flavours, but my favourite is cranberry. For me, these are the perfect mid-morning snack. Each box has 5 individually wrapped oaty biscuit full of cranberries. Definitely worth trying if you are looking for a biscuity snack!
I know there are a few different gluten free crumpets around, but I always find myself coming back to the Genius ones. I find that they toast the best, so that they have the crispy top layer, but the middle is still really soft and fluffy. I have mine after cereal in the morning topped with butter.
I love having a pack of these American style pancakes in my cupboard, as it just makes it so easy to have as a snack, or a weekend brunch, or whenever else I feel like really! The Genius pancakes have such a nice texture, and they aren’t too dry, so they don’t crumble and fall apart. My topping of choice is Nutella and slice banana!
I discovered this product before Christmas, as I was looking for some ready-made pastry to make mince pies with, and I was very pleasantly surprised with how well this pastry worked! It comes frozen, so can be quite solid to get going at first, but once it’s softened it was really easy to work with, and my mince pies were a success. I’m not sure if there are any more brands that sell ready-made gluten free pastry, but it is always handy to know there is some available if like me, you don’t want the hassle of making your own!
It was so hard to choose just my 5 favourite Genius products as there are so many more that I love! Let me know what your favourite products from Genius are, as I’d love to know!
